This panoramic wallpaper is a decoration in monumental dimensions that opens an imaginary window to a realistic or fantasy exterior world. It appeared in the 18th century for the first time and had phenomenal success later in the 70’s. The aim of the New Domestic Landscape collection is to renovate naff panoramic wallpapers from the 80’s showing snow-covered mountain tops or blazing sunsets. Domestic has asked several graphic artists and designers to give this traditional wallpaper a new, modern look. The landscape patterns of this first collection are sometimes surreal or introspective, urban or pastoral, nostalgic or prospective. Printed on a high quality wall paper. Each landscape is 372 cm long and 300 cm high and consists of 8 panels to be fixed on a wall with a wallpaper paste. All wallpapers can be cut in height and width to fit walls of any dimensions. Each copy is numbered and signed by the artist (limited editions to 100 copies/year). Graphic world by Nathalie Lété takes inspiration in old toys and children’s books. Her vintage-style drawings show, like Proust’s’ madeleines, a child’s world full of softness, tenderness and nostalgia. Through these wallpapers, she reminds us of illustrations in old children’s books of natural history.
