Paulo Mariotti (re)visits the most famous Californian villa: the Kaufmann Desert House, all the more coveted since its recent sale.Built in 1946, its architect Richard Neutra was inspired by the fundamentals of the Bahaus while building a new aesthetic where concrete, steel and glass respond to the lunar landscape of Palm Springs.The clean lines of the residence extend into the peaks of San Jacinto, without any human presence disturbing this desert. A panorama mixing shadow and light, transparency and opacity, for an invitation to luxury, calm and exquisite pleasure.Born in Bahia, Brazil, Paulo Mariotti moved with his family to São Paulo in 1978, where he studied Graphic Arts at the FAAP Foundation. Diploma in hand, he moved to Paris in 1991, where he continued his university studies, this time choosing a course in Humanities at the University of La Sorbonne. Text and image have always been present in his professional life. In the 90s, he produced storyboards for short and feature films and worked creating characters for animated films. In 1999, he began illustrating for the press and advertising, in France and abroad. At the same time, he took up the position of permanent correspondent for Vogue Brazil magazine in Paris (as a journalist). In 2013, after four years as an artistic director in communication agencies, he became a correspondent for the Brazilian news channel Globo News. Since then, Paulo Mariotti has continued his career as an illustrator as well as that of a journalist. Made in France, in the Parisian workshops of Image Republic, this poster is a professional print on matt creative paper.
