Kink Vase – / Porcelain – Muuto

With its linear design, the Kink vase dresses your room with its graphic presence. The simple form, both enigmatic and playful, irresistibly attracts attention and stimulates the imagination. This folded porcelain tube evokes an industrial pipe. The double opening suggests a new way of organising flowers. The Kink vase was designed by Earnest Studio, founded by Rachel Griffin, an American-born designer based in Rotterdam. The Kink vase combines traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. The seemingly simple form was actually produced digitally. Studio Earnest explains: “My starting point for the Kink vase was to explore how new shapes can be created through digital manipulation of simple forms. Kink’s design thus combines modern technology with traditional ceramic craftsmanship, resulting in a piece that is both contemporary and sculptural.” The Kink vase has a double finish: on the inside, the glazed porcelain is shiny while on the outside, the raw finish is matt and velvety.
