Deconstructed and sharp design shapes, this new experimental work from Ronan Bouroullec invents a new language. The constantly balanced shapes defy gravity with a play of verticality. These 3D aspects are not entirely accurate: one has an overhanging edge, another has an off-centred, ready-to-roll circle, and another has a mass that could tip over. The traces of tools and unpredictable aspects created by the baking add to the minimalist aesthetic. The clay stays close to its natural and tactile state, and its edges are deliberately sharp and abrupt.
